Content & Copyright Policy

Last updated

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It explains what can be added to Remi and how we deal with problems.

Using material for your own study

Remi is a private study tool. You can add material you have the right to use for your own learning, such as your own notes, slides and readings from your courses, books you own, and articles or videos you can access. Remi turns it into study material only for you; it doesn’t publish your uploads or share them with other users.

You are responsible for making sure you can use what you upload. If a source comes with rules (for example, a course that forbids recording lectures), please follow them.

What isn’t allowed

Don’t upload, create or share anything that:

  • sexually exploits or endangers children, in any form. We report such material to the relevant authorities;
  • is illegal where you live or in the United States, or promotes illegal activity;
  • infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights in a way that isn’t allowed by law;
  • contains malware, or is designed to break, overload or get unauthorized access to Remi or anyone else’s systems;
  • harasses, threatens or promotes violence or hatred against people based on who they are;
  • contains someone else’s private information (such as ID documents, medical or financial records) without their permission; or
  • tries to trick Remi’s AI into producing harmful content, revealing its instructions, or ignoring these rules.

You also may not use Remi to mass-produce content for others, to resell study material made by Remi, or to get around the limits of your plan.

How we handle problems

We don’t routinely look through private libraries. We may review content when it’s reported to us, when we must by law, or when automated checks flag a security risk (such as malware). If content breaks this policy, we may remove it, limit features, or suspend or close the account, depending on how serious it is. We will usually tell you what happened and why. If you think we made a mistake, reply to our message and we’ll look again.

To report content in Remi’s catalog, or a problem with the app, write to support@remi-learn.com.

We respect the rights of creators and respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement, consistent with the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws.

If you believe material on Remi infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at legal@remi-learn.com with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  3. a description of the material you believe is infringing and enough information for us to find it;
  4. your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Please note that you may be liable for damages if you knowingly misrepresent that material is infringing.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed because of a copyright notice and you believe this was a mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice to legal@remi-learn.com with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. a description of the material that was removed and where it appeared;
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if you’re outside the US, any judicial district in which Remi Learn may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the person who sent the notice tells us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.
