Questions, answered.
Everything people ask us about Remi, in one place.
Getting started
When can I download Remi?
Remi is coming soon to iPhone and Android. Join the launch list and we’ll email you the day it’s ready in your store.
What can I give Remi?
PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, EPUB and Kindle books, photos of notes and whiteboards, YouTube videos, web articles, lecture recordings, voice notes, videos, Jupyter notebooks and source code. You can add them in the app or share them to Remi from any other app.
Do I need an account?
You can start as a guest and create an account when you finish setting up, so your notes, streak and progress are saved and can move to a new phone.
Is Remi for school only?
No. Remi is used by high school and university students, but also by people learning for work or for fun. If you can read it, watch it or listen to it, Remi can help you learn it.
Studying
How does Remi make lessons from my file?
Remi reads the whole source, names it, writes a summary and splits it into parts of about a page or a minute each. As you study each part, Remi writes flashcards and quiz questions from it and schedules your reviews.
How does Remi decide when to review a card?
Remi uses FSRS, an open-source spaced-repetition algorithm, to estimate when you are about to forget each card and brings it back just before then. Cards you know well come back less and less often.
What kinds of quiz questions are there?
Pick the answer, type the answer, work it out (numbers with units) and write code. Remi grades free-form answers, explains what you missed, and brings mistakes back later in the session.
Do reviews use up my sparks?
No. Sparks are only used when you study a new part of a note. Reviewing flashcards and practicing what you’ve already studied is always free.
What is a streak freeze?
Your streak grows each day you study, practice or review. A streak freeze protects it on a day you miss. You can earn freezes from chests or get them in the Shop.
Is the AI-written content always right?
Remi writes every card and question from your own material and links back to the source, but it can still get things wrong. If a question looks off, tap the flag after answering to remove it from your practice, and tell us at support@remi-learn.com so we can do better.
Plans & billing
Is Remi free?
Yes. The free plan includes everything you need to study every day, with 48 sparks a day and ads. Remi Plus doubles your daily battery to 96 sparks, gives you 10 GB of storage and removes ads for $9.99 a month or $95.88 a year.
What are sparks?
Sparks are your study energy. One spark studies one part of a note, about a page or a minute of audio or video. Your battery refills every night, which keeps sessions short and steady and keeps Remi affordable to run.
How do I cancel Remi Plus?
Subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play. Cancel anytime in your store’s subscription settings; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Read the subscription terms.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, Remi Plus starts with a 7-day free trial. We email you a reminder before it ends, and you can cancel before then at no charge.
I got a new phone. How do I get Remi Plus back?
Sign in with the same Remi account and Plus is there. If it isn’t, open the Remi Plus screen and tap Restore. Plus is tied to your Remi account, so it works on iPhone and Android.
What can I buy in the Shop?
Energy cells to refill your battery, streak freezes and battery boosts. They are one-off purchases, separate from Remi Plus. See prices.
